Jack and Pwyll’s debut performance was last year in war-torn Kyiv, Ukraine. Since then, the two (aka Duologue) have been busy recording an album of Philip Glass arrangements to celebrate the composer’s ninetieth birthday next year. Their program will include music by Glass and Arvo Pärt alongside Jack’s acclaimed Birdsong composition and Pwyll’s homage to Ukraine, The Bird Has Flown.
Duologue is a blend of the words “duet” and “dialogue.” This format was created in 2025 by violinist and composer Jack M. Campbell and composer-pianist Pwyll ap Siôn. The two met in 2024 while researching the music of György Ligeti and Steve Reich at the Paul Sacher Stiftung in Basel, and developed Duologue to perform socially engaged and environmentally conscious contemporary music that explores simplicity and complexity, minimalism and maximalism.
