Set in the 1990s, the story takes place in the sleepy village of Dibley. Following the death of Reverend Pottle, the Dibley Parish Council gathers and awaits the arrival of their new Vicar and are shocked to discover she is a woman. What follows is a wonderfully entertaining mix of unlikely and unexpected friendships, paired with quirky eccentric personalities, which will be every bit as heart-warming as they are entertaining. Expect plenty of laugh-out-loud moments!
The Vicar of Dibley first aired on television in 1994, following the historic changes of 1993, when the Church of England first permitted the ordination of women.
