The hardest thing in writing can be getting words down on paper in the first place. In this workshop, we’ll explore some low-stress ways of doing that. We’ll transform our terrible first drafts of poems into perfect…okay, less terrible…second drafts. And we’ll identify brilliant aspects of each other’s work because there is always something good to be found in a piece of writing.
We may work together to create an instant short story plan. Or transform ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ into a thing of wonder. Or create a striking phrase (BIFF! ZONK! KAPOW!) out of a favourite word. When you’re EXERCISING YOUR WRITING MUSCLES, all kinds of things become possible. Oh. And if you’ve ever wondered if it’s possible to make money out of writing, Ewan Smith might have some suggestions to offer.
