Rhi Jorj has been back on the Welsh music scene since March this year when her EP ‘Amser’ was released. As a former teacher, the world changed when she was diagnosed with the rare Addison’s disease in ’23 and instinctively turned to composing in the process of healing and strengthening. She was the lead singer in the band Ust when she was young and also in the band Amledd with her husband, the violinist Billy Thompson. Rhi is now a full time musician and performs around the country performing with her talented band. Billy has recorded and produced her recent album Ysgafn which is a mixture of Rhi’s songs from Marrakesh to Cysgodi y Coed with melodic and magical tunes and others with a storm of movement from Billy on his violin, a force of nature. The sound of the band with Rhi’s unique voice makes this band different from any other on the Welsh scene. Rhi sees it as a privilege to be back performing and enjoys every moment of sharing her songs with many audiences.
