As the Great War reaches its peak, German teenager Paul Bäumer (Felix Kammerer) enlists into the army. Eighteen months later, the reality of trench warfare has sunk in, and Paul must do all he can just to survive. Meanwhile, peace-seeking politician Matthias Erzberger (Daniel Brühl) desperately tries to negotiate an armistice.
This is the third cinematic adaptation of the famous novel by Erich Maria.
