“Astounding – intense, skillful and full of passion, not just from the incredible company on stage, but the enthusiastic and enthralled audience as well”

Join this exceptional group of traditional flamenco artists as they journey from one continent to the next exploring artistic expressions, delving deep into almost-forgotten knowledge and searching for true origins of the art form that we have come to know as flamenco.

Flamenco Orígenes celebrates the multitude of art forms that fed into the evolution of flamenco, the traditional art form of the Andalusian people, which evolved out of the melting pot of cultures and peoples that have lived and thrived in Andalusia, in the South of Spain, for millennia. We can trace flamenco’s roots to the four corners of the earth, from ancient trade routes to modern shipping lanes – from the Guajiras which has roots in Cuba, to the Arabic Zambra, to the flamenco Milonga from Argentina, art, like the artist, is in a constant state of change, and flamenco has absorbed sounds and movements wherever it goes.

Lourdes Fernández and her Flamenco Company welcomes you to join them on this epic adventure spanning multiple continents and hundreds of years and discover more about the beautifully rich art which we have come to know as flamenco.

What the Press say

The audience has caught the energy as well, leaping to their feet with applause and cries of “Olé!”” Dominica Plummer; thespyinthestalls.com
