Singer and bouzouki player Daoirí Farrell has won two prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and four nominations in Ireland’s RTÉ Folk Awards.
He has since toured across the world, as well as with the all-star Transatlantic Sessions in major venues across the UK and in the USA as guest vocalist for Lúnasa.
His fourth album, ‘The Wedding Above In Glencree’, recorded with Trevor Hutchinson of The Waterboys/Lunasa was released in 2023. Folk Radio UK wrote of his performance on the album, ‘He has the best Irish traditional voice currently around; if there’s better, I’ve yet to hear it.’
