A perfect treat for Halloween
Adapted by Mike Brooks ‘The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow’ is a classic Gothic story by American author Washington Irving. It is often read around Halloween and has been adapted on stage and screen many times.
The story is set in 1790, in Sleepy Hollow, a small town near New York. The place is home to many tales of the supernatural especially that of the Headless Horseman.
Ichabod Crane, a school teacher from Connecticut moves into town. He is superstitious and believes all the local legends. He soon becomes a rival to Brom Bones for the affections of Katrina. She rejects Ichabod. Perhaps the Headless Horseman wants Ichabod to leave town too, or is it Brom in disguise?
Suitable for children aged 5 – 10 years old
